Getting Started Running | Ages 12+ (DAY EIGHT OF FORTY!)
Our advice on Day 8 is that although you're going to have good miles and bad miles if you keep going things will get better. Typically the start of the run for me is the hardest part, but as I keep going it gets easier. Hang in there and keep running!
Today's strength exercise and warm-up is to find a short, steep, hill. No more than 10 yards long. Run up it as fast as you can, and walk down, ten times. If you don't have a hill nearby, find some stairs. You can go up them 2 at a time. Be careful! The idea is we're building strength on the hills or stairs.
Ok, this is Day 8 of building aerobic capacity. Keeping in mind what we said about good miles and bad miles, see if you can recognize them in today's run. Make sure you put them in your journal! Have a good run. See you on Day 9!
